Artist

I have always loved art since I was a young child. When I was 14 years old, I heard about an upcoming adult education course in oil painting and asked my parents if I could attend. My dad, who was a pastry chef, inquired for me and learned that I wouldn’t be allowed to take the course because I wasn’t an adult. I was crushed, but Dad told me that he would attend and then teach me what he learned. That was the beginning of a hobby for him and a life-long passion for me.

Thank you, Dad.

I had no formal art training until many years later, after raising four daughters, when I went back to school in Daytona Beach where I studied under two wonderful instructors, Pam Griesinger (oil painting) and the late Steve Marsh (design and drawing). Over the past 20 years, I have specialized in portraits of children and animals and have displayed in various art shows, but mainly have done commission work, including five pieces for Walt Disney World’s Celebration corporate office. I also have taught colored pencil courses to small groups and have done private tutoring.
